Online PTLLS Courses Train the Trainer - Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Sector
ITG Instructor Training offer the PTLLS Level 3 Train the Trainer Course as an online / blended course. Using a mixture of training methods and comprehensive tutor support, you can complete the assignments at home using our new virtual learning environment (VLE) and when you are ready, you attend our training centre for 1 day to complete the Micro Teach session.
This course meets the government requirement for teachers, trainers and tutors who need an initial award for their role as a teacher or trainer in the lifelong learning sector or those who want to teach in a Further Education College, Adult Learning Environment or be a trainer for a Learning Provider. This qualification is appropriate for anyone who is wishing to teach or train adults.
The distance course is ideal for candidates who already have experience teaching but who now find that they need the PTLLS qualification for work or training, if you find yourself in this situation, this course is designed to allow you to attain the qualification you need without having to take time away from your work.
If you are new to teaching you will find the Virtual Learning Environment offers the convenience of learning at home at your own pace with tutor email support and a wide range of materials at your disposal to help you through your course.
Please note that using the Virtual Learning Environment for your training involves downloading and uploading of files and does require basic IT skills. While we offer full course support we cannot provide training in basic computer skills.
The distance course is ideal for candidates with a busy schedule who need a course that will fit around their daily lives.

How it works - Online /Blended
- You receive a unique login to our Moodle Based Virtual Learning Environment
- Videos, lessons, hand-outs and examples are available for each module to ensure that you have the information you need to complete your assessment.
- You download a word document template that includes the question for each assessment
- The completed assessment is uploaded to the Virtual Learning Environment
- Our tutors grade the assessment and provide feedback and guidance to ensure that each module is completed successfully before you move onto the next one.
- There are 7 theory assessments to be completed, followed by the preparation of your session plan
- Arrange your micro-teach practical module which is 1 day in the classroom at our training centre.
This course is designed to fit in around your work and home life and enables you to complete a module at a time, each assessment is marked and you will receive feedback from your tutor via the virtual learning environment.
There is a PTLLS book you will need to purchase to help you with your assignments, we have provided a link for you in the right hand menu for your convenience.

- The ability to download word document templates, save them to your hard drive and upload the completed work by browsing to where the file is held on your computer

PTLLS Entry Requirements
All Train the Trainer entrants need to have the personal and intellectual abilities to acquire the knowledge and understand the skills needed to gain this award.
All entrants must be able to read effectively and communicate clearly and accurately in written and spoken standard English
This online course allows learners to commence their professional development within the teaching profession, without the need for taking extended time off from work, all it takes is 1 day in the classroom, the rest of the course can be fitted in around your work and home time.
All new PTLLS bookings will be using the new Award which has a QCF credit value of 12
